This is Janie. Poor Janie has a rather sad story. When the Jasper Fire was burning a few years ago, I remembered this little pony from a house I had visited earlier in the year. Her barn was right in the path of the fire. This little pony was foundered so she could hardly walk, she might as well have been tied to a tree and left to burn. Without second thought, we hitched up the trailer to go and rescue Janie and her contemporaries and bring them to our house to wait out the fire. While here, Janie found some new little girls to love her and now she has become a permanent member of our barn! This picture is Janie and Lora. Can you see Janie smile?

Update, Sept, 15, 2001 -- sadly, Janie broke her leg in the pasture and we had to put her down. We hope that we were able to make her last year a good one. We miss her dearly.
