UPDATE! We have finally found land to build on! We just closed on 10 acres. To see a VIRTUAL TOUR of the new land, click here.

Now that we are pretty much finished with our farmhouse, we needed to tackle a new project. After attending a log home building seminar last January, we have decided to build a handcrafted log home, all from scratch, all done ourselves. We were blessed enough to have a friend offer us the logs from his land, so we now have our arena (and some of the front yard) filled with logs that Mark is peeling in preparation for our new home.

Here is a picture of our logs arriving. Mark spent two weeks camping out in the woods and felling trees, skidding them with an old Wagonneer (which is now the vehicle of all vehicles according to Mark). We then had a neighbor who is a logger haul our logs for us. Now Mark has been peeling the logs so that they will dry correctly.
